Super Sentences

Here’s an activity book that makes vocabulary building exciting. Students translate “Super Sentences”  (sentences that contain up to 12 new vocabulary words) into simple English using a dictionary and the supplied worksheets. Two levels of sentences provide pronunciation practice, encourage dictionary expertise, and stimulate higher level thinking skills for a range of grade levels.  Level One Sentences meet the needs of above average ability students in grades 3-4, average ability students in grades 5-6, and below average ability students in grades 7-12. Level Two Sentences meet the needs of above average students in grades 5-12, and average ability students in grades 10-12.

Sample Level One Sentence:
In the FABULOUS, GRANDIOSE CHATEAU, which has an INCOMPARABLY IMPRESSIVE, PANORAMIC view of the surrounding TERRAIN, the GORGEOUS CHANDELIER swayed OMINOUSLY, seconds before the LETHAL earthquake struck.

Sample Level Two Sentence:
The MEWLING, INCONTINENT NEONATES are PURPORTED to REEK VENIAL, NOISOME FETORS similar to those EMINATING from a NOXIOUS, MEPHITIC CARAVANSERAI.
