Show, Don't Tell!

A picture book and how-to in one!  Young writers learn how to use language to show a story (fiction or nonfiction) instead of telling a story. The "story" of the book is about a lion challenging his animal friends to a "language arts experiment." Nobisso has integrated writing lessons into the story and the layout so that students don't see them initially as writing activities but invitations to imagine.  The story also incorporates a sound chip, a scratch-and-sniff patch, and a tactile object to engage the aspiring writer's five senses.
