New Directions in Creativity is
a series of five volumes of creativity training activities for students
in grades K-8 based on Guilford’s Structure of the Intellect Model
using such time-honored techniques as brainstorming and forced
relationships to help students break away from conventional thinking and
venture into the realm of original thought. Each volume contains a
discussion of program philosophy, objectives and suggestions for
presenting each of the 24 activities, follow-up ideas, and 48
reproducible student activity pages.
Mark B provides activities for students in grades 2-3. Activities ask
children to create pictures using only two or three shapes, design
symbols, develop codes, come up with trademarks for businesses, grouping
words and pictures, and more.
