Frequently Asked Questions: General

How do I navigate through your site?

In the upper right-hand corner of our main menu bar are two columns which outline our Mentors-in-Print section and our CLP section. When you click on one of the categories (Arts and Humanities, for example) you will see tabs along the top of the "page" with the headings in Arts and Humanities (Fine Arts, Geography, History, and Language Arts). Subheadings appear in the colored bar running down the left of the page.

You can also use our Search tool at any time. You can type in the title of a book, author name, or subject.

To purchase an item, see our "How To Order" page

How do I use the Search tool?

To use the search engine, type in a word or words into the text box at the top of the page and click "search" or hit the "enter" key on your keyboard.

The search engine looks up book titles and descriptions which contain all of the search terms. In addition, the search engine only looks for exact matches for words. For example, "cartoon" will bring up titles and descriptions with the word "cartoon" but will miss titles and descriptions with the word "cartooning" or "cartoons." Partial words, such as "cartoo," will also not work.

You can use this feature to quickly narrow searches. For example, a search for "math" brings up over 40 titles. Searching for "puzzles" brings up 16. Searching for "math puzzles" narrows the seletion to only 4.

The search engine is case insensitive, and word order does not matter. However, it does not recognize hyphens. Instead type the title with spaces inserted for the hyphens. For example, "Interest-A-Lyzer" will not yield any results. "Interest A Lyzer" will.

Is your site secure?

Yes. We have a Verisign certificate and all communication is encrypted between your browser and our web server.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept MasterCard, Visa, and Discover. We also accept personal and business checks. However, we cannot send out orders until we receive the check. You can still order on-line, though, or you can download a copy of our order form to send along with your check. Schools and bookstores may use purchase order numbers.

Do you have a print catalog?

Yes. You can contact us to receive a print catalog and/or to get on our mailing list. (You can rest assured that we do not sell our mailing list to anyone.) We are currently working on putting our catalog in pdf format so that you can download it from this website.

I'm interested in the Schoolwide Enrichment Model Video Training Program. Is there a preview tape?

Yes. Since the Schoolwide Enrichment Model Video Training Program is non-returnable (except for replacement of damaged items), we do offer a preview tape. We send the tape to you and you must return it when you have finished with it.

I'm a professor and am interested in one of your titles for use in a class. Do you send review copies?

Yes, we can send damaged-cover titles as review copies. Please send us an e-mail or call us for more information.

Are your forms and instruments copyrighted?

Yes. Our materials cannot be copied without prior written permission.

Are there any norms for the Scales for Rating Behavioral Characteristics for Superior Students (SRBCSS)?

No. Since schools and student populations can vary widely from region to region, we recommend that schools establish local norms if they need them. The revised manual for SRBCSS includes information on how to establish norms.

I would like to request permission to use a quote from one of your books. How do I go about receiving permission?

Please send (via mail or fax) a letter clearly stating the quote or figure you would like permission to use, information about where the quote or figure is being used (a copy of the manuscript page which contains the quote or figure is very helpful), and how many copies you intend to make. You can address the letter to Kristina Morgan, Executive Director, Creative Learning Press Inc., PO Box 320, Mansfield Center, CT 06250.

I have a manuscript in which Creative Learning Press, Inc. might be interested. What are your submission guidelines?

You can submit a query letter that summarizes your manuscript, its intended audience, and why you think it fits in with our current publications. You can include excerpts (chapters) of your manuscript if you wish. We try to respond to queries within two months. Please keep in mind that we do not publish picture books. You can send your manuscripts to:

Editor, Creative Learning Press, Inc., PO Box 320, Mansfield Center, CT 06250.

Frequently Asked Questions: Shipping

How long will it take for me to receive my order?

Most web orders are processed and shipped within 48 hours of receipt, and most customers receive their orders within two weeks. However, since we occasionally run out of stock of particular items, we ask that you allow four weeks for complete delivery of your order.

Can you rush shipments?

We can overnight and two-day air shipments, but these shipments will incur extra charges. If you need an order rushed, please contact us by phone (888-518-8004) so that we can calculate the additional charges. In order to get "true" next-day delivery (the next day from the day you place the order), you must place your order by 1:00pm EST.

What are your shipping charges for international orders?

Since the cost of shipping orders varies from country to country, we compute international shipping charges on a per order basis. When you place your order with us, we will compute the shipping charges and e-mail you with that rate. At that time, you can cancel your order if you wish to do so. We regularly use DHL for international orders, but we do investigate other carriers in order to find the best rates for customers.

On international orders, who pays customs duties?

Customers pay all duties and charges for customs.

Frequently Asked Questions: Problems with Orders
