Archaeology for Kids

Twenty-five projects (e.g., making a surface survey of a site, building a screen for sifting dirt and debris, and tracking soil age by color) teach kids techniques that unearthed Neanderthal caves, Pompeii, and Tenochtitlan.  Kids gain an overview of human history and the science that brings it back to life as they “read” objects excavated from their own backyards, use patent numbers to date modern artifacts, and more.
