Ancient Science

Engage students in history and science through 40 “time-traveling, world-exploring, history-making” activities. Divided into civilizations (Egyptian, Roman, Greek, Mayan and Aztec, Chinese, and Middle Eastern), projects explore scientific contributions from each culture such as the clepsydra from Greece, a sled kite from China, glue from Egypt, and sunglasses from the Thule culture. Projects require easy-to-find materials and include step-by-step instructions. The “More Fun Stuff to Do” section offers variations for students to try.
